Who is this program for
The PEI PNP targets skilled workers with a job offer from a PEI employer in high-demand positions, critical workers (cashiers, servers, caregivers, farm workers), Express Entry candidates wishing to settle on the island, graduates from PEI post-secondary institutions with a job offer, entrepreneurs wishing to start or acquire a business on the island, and workers in tourism, agriculture, fisheries, healthcare, and technology sectors.
Main criteria
Process steps
1. Verify eligibility and choose a stream
Assess your situation and choose from: Labour Impact (Critical Worker, Skilled Worker, Skilled Worker in PEI, Express Entry), Business Impact (Work Permit Stream, Entrepreneur Stream), or International Graduate Stream.
2. Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI)
Create an account on the PEI PNP portal and submit your EOI. You will be evaluated according to a points system based on your age, education, experience, language skills, and PEI connections.
3. Receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA)
If your profile is selected in a monthly draw, you will receive an ITA giving you 60 days to submit a complete application.
4. Submit complete application
Prepare and submit your file with all required documents within 60 days after the ITA.
5. Interview (if applicable)
For some streams, particularly Business Impact, an interview may be required to assess your business plan and intention to settle.
6. Obtain provincial nomination
If approved, you receive a nomination letter from PEI which adds 600 points to your Express Entry profile or allows you to apply for PR through the PNP stream.
7. Apply for permanent residence to IRCC
With your nomination, submit your permanent residence application to IRCC within the prescribed timeframes.
