Types of Documents to Visit Canada

Depending on your nationality and mode of transport, you will need a visa, an eTA or a Super Visa.

Visitor Visa (TRV)

The Temporary Resident Visa allows you to visit Canada for tourism, family visits, or business. Valid up to 10 years, stays of 6 months maximum.

eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization)

The Electronic Travel Authorization is required for visa-exempt travelers arriving by air. Simple and fast online process.

Super Visa

Special visa allowing parents and grandparents of citizens/PRs to stay up to 5 years per visit. Valid for 10 years, multiple entries.

For: Parents and grandparents of citizens or PRs

Extend your visitor status if you wish to stay longer in Canada. Application must be made before your current status expires.

The Super Visa allows your parents and grandparents to visit you in Canada for extended stays — up to 5 years per visit without having to renew their status.
